Meet Abigail - The Littlest Heroes Project

I met Abigail and her family through The Littlest Heroes Project. The Littlest Heroes Project is non-profit based organization founded in January 2008 , made up of professional photographers nationwide that provide free photo sessions to our nations Littlest Heroes. Through the power of photography we are giving back and taking a stand for these children who sometimes feel forgotten because of their illnesses. We are here to let them know that they are heroes to many, and to share their inspirational stories and photos with the world.

Abigail is 8 months old - she is a beautiful little girl - big blue eyes, long lashes and curls to swoon over.



This is Abigail's Story:

When I was born I could not breathe - I was immediately incubated and whisked away. I spent a month and a half in the NICU until I had a Tracheotomy and a Nissen Fundoplication followed with a GT placement.I was placed up in the PICU where I was closely monitored. I spent a half a month there before I could go home. Since being home I have been in and out of the hospital due to surgical procedures and respiratory infections and many more hospital visits to come that are out of my control. At home I am on a ventilator to help me breathe and a oximeter to tell my parents and nurses what my oxygen level is and what my heart rate is. My parents recently found out my heart has been stopping for short periods of time but to the point the doctors worry about me going into cardiac arrest so in the possible near future if it doesn't get better I could possibly have a pacemaker put in but for now I am living everyday to the fullest with my family. I am a resilient 8 month old who has faith I will overcome all my obstacles and to one day being a "normal" healthy little girl.

The big sister of the sweet family won 1st place in the Fresh Faces Contest! They decided to use their free session to celebrate the birth of a new baby!

Sneak Peek - Fresh Faces Contest First Prize Winner

I was so happy to finally get to meet this wonderful family - We had some scheduling snafus but we set a date and they invited us (me and my Husband/Assistant) out to their amazing Farm in Emmett! I was all over that - we had a relaxing drive out there...and for the photos, well I'll let them talk for themselves...



We went for a walk down the street and found (well, they knew it was there!) a dance hall. I loved the red walls - perfect background!



I love this photo! The truck was there and I asked them if it was abandoned - YES! That's like, photographer heaven right there!



I loved these flowers in their yard! (and the Baby J? The cutest baby ever - with the sweetest laugh!)



and the winner, of course.

Remember that amazingly cool contest we had in the spring? Well, Our Winning Fresh Face and I are now best buds :-) Miss A and Brother K (plus Mom and Dad) and I had a great time out at the park!
